Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress who is best recognized for her performances as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington Ohio in order to settle at Los Angeles. The actress landed her first part, as Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time in the financial department. In 2002, she was nominated for an Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford, the character she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) on Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes as Shannon. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season that aired from 2013 to the year 2014. She is Faith, a groupie who serves as a model for celebrities and attracts the attention to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the daughter and older sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was an early teenager, with small role in films made that her father directed. In addition, she was a part of her brother in 2001's famous movie Donnie Darko. Later, she was on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performance in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. In recognition of her role as a single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she got a nomination in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following year, she starred in dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (2012). Alongside her work as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). One of her latest roles included her character as the primary protagonist The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal started her career as director, screenwriter and script writer, when she wrote and directed the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in the Venice International Film Festival, and it was nominated by the Academy Award.
