Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress and television presenter. She's best known as the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had secured a number of TV roles for instance, the lead in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge on Downfall. The film was nominated for an Oscar and won critical and commercial success. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominees featuring female stars. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable national and international projects throughout her career. These comprise British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as in addition to the French historical miniseries Napoleon. She also remained member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
